With the announcement that Bruce Jenner is officially transitioning into a woman finally out in the open, a lot of questions have surrounded how the family is actually dealing with the change.
Kim Kardashian took to Jimmy Kimmel on Thursday night to discuss and promote her new book, “Selfish”—which will be released May 5—but that wasn’t the only thing Kimmel pressed Kim to talk about.
Kim told Kimmel that Jenner is doing “really well” now that his secret is out. “He is so happy. I think it’s a sense of relief from all of the amazing support he’s felt. It’s a really great thing to come out and be so truthful and to have all of that support, I think just meant the world to him—and our whole family.”
She later went on to explain that her acceptance—Bruce himself has reported that Kim has been the most accepting when it came to his decision—came with one major caveat.
“I said, ‘The only thing is, whatever you do, do not steal my glam team. They are mine!’ There’s too many girls in this family!” Kim recalled. “I did tell him that, and I said, ‘Whatever help you need, you need to look and feel your best, and if you need anything, style-wise, glam-wise, I am here to help you.'”
(Bruce advised Diane Sawyer that in the context of Friday’s interview, he should still be referred to by the male pronouns “he” and “him.” At this time, Bruce has not chosen to publicly identify as a woman and so we will continue to refer to him as Bruce and use male pronouns, until he indicates otherwise.)
